The Synoptic Forecast view is experimental. It renders gridded fields (θe, |∇θe|, TFP, advection, tendency) derived from NWP models for frontal-zone detection using the Hewson method. Thresholds and colour scales are still being calibrated against analysed surface charts — treat the overlays as indicative, not definitive.
